The affordable menu features ambitious mini-plates that meld elegantly. (USA Today)

A downtown oasis of good taste. (Utah Home & Garden)

An intimate, grown-up dinner destination. Flavors are beautifully orchestrated. (CitySearch editors)

Consistently and quietly one of the city's best. (Ted Scheffler, Salt Lake City Weekly)

Martine has become essential to downtown nightlife and the city’s culinary scene. The restaurant’s focus, tapas (small Spanish appetizers), consistently draws a hip, pre-event crowd. The menu, which changes every two weeks, offers a variety of the small snacks, from halibut cakes with saffron aioli in fennel-tomato broth to fried risotto and artichoke cakes with tomato tapenade. Nightly specials increase the offerings—perhaps frog legs in spicy red pepper sauce or steamed mussels in curry broth with mint. The wine list is small but carefully chosen. At lunch you’ll find a non-tapas pub menu. (S. L. Magazine)

"Divine, simply divine" gush gastronomes who swear there's "nothing but fun" to be had at this "urbane", "cozy" and "romantic" Med-New American spot set in a historic "old Downtown brownstone"; "go with a large group and order" the "masterpiece plates" of "different tapas to sample" - it's some of the "best, most unique and innovative cooking in town", plus there's an "imaginative wine list" to boot.
